The Book that changed my life.

There are plethora books that I have read but among them one book that had deep influence in my life is “Power of your Subconscious Mind” by Dr. Joseph Murphy. It was also my first self-help book I read. Today I want to share how this book changed my thought process as well as my life.

Most part of our work is done through our subconscious brain however we never notice the power of our subconscious brain. All our day to day activity we do without any challenge is because we have all set in our subconscious brain. So this part of our mind really does magic if we utilize it in our complex work like learning new things or achieving impossible. Once subconscious mind get activated in particular task then it will turn into reality.

How to activate our subconscious mind? It’s simple yet powerful , if there is anything we want to achieve simply thought of it, get deep into the thought repeat it every time, make it like reality in your mind, feel it, taste it, smell it, talk inside that reality in our mind.

Now what just thinking in mind creates reality? No it doesn’t but yes. Confusion right. We are just making our subconscious mind awake, once awake it start doing its work. After that recurring thought in our mind now brain start sending signal and release chemical that is required to get our things done we have been thinking in our mind. Strange!!!! Just close your eyes and quietly thought of a lemon feel it in your mind, smell it, try to slice into two halves, taste it, lick it sour lemon..I am sure your tongue is watery now. Guess how our mind gave signal and made our body ready for digesting that sour lemon. Its exact same logic with achieving our repeated thought goal.     

Sometimes your conscious brain might not function well due to some stress it could not make right decision. In such case we need to rest our mind, forget about everything just take a good sleep. Next day we will be ready with our answer. So what happens at night? While we are in deep sleep our thoughts gets into our subconscious mind and start figuring out the correct outcome. Next day when we wake up feeling fresh we feel more energetic and we start acting the way our subconscious mind guide.

I have used and still using methods from this book to really overcoming many obstacles in my life and to achieving my goal. To keep me motivated doing new things and learning, subconscious mind suggestion is really effective. It’s not true until and unless you do it by yourself.

Another lesson from this book which I apply in my life is to wish for others. See this is something really powerful when we start wishing for others success it will surely come back to us. If we secretly despise others for having something we want, we’ll make it less likely for ourselves to attain that thing.

This book is a kind of spiritual. I can relate its Lesson with some of our Hindu Spiritual Gurus philosophy. Murphy describes many examples in the book, like an opera singer, who used this technique to overcome his stage fright. Another one is a surgeon in the 1900s, who lowered the mortality rate of his patients by telling them they wouldn’t get an infection. There are also many modern-day examples, like actor Jim Carry, who used visualization to succeed.
I would highly recommend this book to students as well as any profession person to read because it changed my life and will so does yours.
